Pera Museum Continues to Celebrate Its 20th Anniversary with Major Exhibitions

The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Pera Museum presents two significant exhibitions between September 16, 2025 and January 18, 2026: Feelings in Common: Works from the British Council Collection and Swedish artist Åsa Jungnelius’s first solo exhibition in Turkey, A Verse Written with Earth, Fire, Water, and Air.

Feelings in Common: Works from the British Council Collection
Bringing together works by 29 artists from the British Council Collection, Feelings in Common offers a rich panorama of 20th and 21st-century art from the United Kingdom. Curated by Ulya Soley and structured in three chapters, “Preserving Care,” “Familiar Faces,” and “Future Perfect”, the exhibition reflects on institutional collection policies, communities that gather through art, and the future of art institutions, while highlighting the connective power of emotions in society.

The exhibition features works by prominent artists such as Sonia Boyce, Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Lucian Freud, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Sarah Lucas, Chris Ofili, and Wolfgang Tillmans.

Åsa Jungnelius: A Verse Written with Earth, Fire, Water, and Air
Curated by Elif Kamışlı, A Verse Written with Earth, Fire, Water, and Air introduces the artist’s poetic dialogue with materiality. Through her glass and marble works, Jungnelius explores the tension between fragility and permanence, inviting viewers to contemplate the layered relationship between humans and materials. Inspired by the four elements, the exhibition unfolds as a “verse” written with earth, fire, water, and air.

Together, these two exhibitions continue Pera Museum’s mission of presenting diverse and dynamic artistic practices, encouraging audiences to reflect on materials, emotions, and contexts in new ways.
