Suna'nın Kızları organised the third meeting of the Safe Steps project in collaboration with Skechers and community stakeholder Şehir Dedektifi. This meeting was hosted by IBB Cibali Neighbourhood House and 17 girls between the ages of 11-14 participated in the two-day event.
In the project, various workshops were organised to help girls discover their needs and create a safe space where they can express themselves. Body Mapping and Fantastic Beasts workshops encouraged children's imagination and allowed girls to use their creativity freely. As a result of these workshops, girls prepared models to redesign the environment they live in in line with their own needs and dreams.
Following the workshops, a discovery tour for girls was organised with a coastal walk in Cibali. During this tour, the participants had the chance to evaluate the neighbourhood through the eyes of girls and rediscovered the environment.
Specialists from Johns Hopkins and Harvard Universities evaluated children diagnosed with Ataxia-Telangiectasia (AT), a rare genetic disorder, at healthcare institutions in Istanbul. This significant meeting marked a step forward in the potential application of advanced treatment methods in Turkey.
Two exhibitions currently on view at Pera Museum—"Much Is to Be Done", focusing on Samih Rifat, and Dancing with the Moon, featuring Marcel Dzama—are accompanied by two comprehensive publications that enrich and deepen the exhibition experience beyond the visual encounter.
Suna’s Daughters has partnered with UNICEF Türkiye to strengthen safe spaces for adolescent girls. Through a cooperation protocol signed by the two organizations, the initiative aims to expand access to physical and digital environments where girls can feel safe, valued, and empowered.
